Acoustic Alternative Trio

Crystal-clear three voice harmonies, poppy punk rock refrains, and deep country riffs, all delivered on ukuleles, washboard, guitars and mandolin. Danish/American/German folkpunk trio The Leroys are back in the saddle again, original founding members Nielsen (vocals, ukuleles, percussion) and Thorsten “Totti” Scharfenberg (vocals, guitar, mandolin, bass) now joined by New Yorker Ginger Wade on ukebass, vocals and guitar. Drawing on 30-plus years of relentless touring throughout Europe and an extensive back catalogue, the latest incarnation of the band benefits from a fresh wind of new songwriting and reimagining of tunes both new and classic, along with an unpredictable assortment of covers. Live appearances are now focused on Northern Germany in and around their home bases of Lübeck and Hamburg. That said, they  are up for a road trip if the circumstances are right!

In spring 2017, long-time vocalist Sonja Rohwer decided to leave the band, and Torsten and Kent spent the next years searching before they finally found a more-than-adequate replacement in Ginger. In addition to upcoming gigs – ranging from indie festivals to smoky pubs, living room SofaConcerts and garden parties – the band has plans to go back into the studio and record some new material soon.
