On her latest album CONTEXT, Sanne Graulund interprets pop hits such as  Robyn’s “Dancing on my own ” and Radiohead’s “No surprises” in toned-down,  jazzy, smokey versions. She also invites the listener along to new versions of  classic jazz standards such as my “My favorite things’ ‘ and “The nearness of you”. The Press says: “soothing, surrounded by Graulunds warm intense vocal”, “…”this  album needs much attention”…”I Will listen to it over and over”…“Surrounded by  Sanne Graulunds voice that has a certain gleam of proximity to it”

Jan Harbeck (saxophone) lives and breathes for his music and to tell a story with  his saxophone. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg as well as  New School in New York. Besides his two orchestras Jan Harbeck  Quartet and Live Jive Jungle, Jan plays with numerous other orchestras. Jan Harbeck has received the Ben Webster Prize 2018.

In 2011, Jan was presented with the prestigious Danish award Bent Jædig Prize as  well as Walter Klæbel Prize in 2006. Not least, Jan won a Grammy in 2009 for the  best album of the year.

In 2014, Jan Harbeck Quartet released the album ‘Variations in Blue’ with Walter  Smith III and the world’s leading jazz magazine DownBeat wrote the following: -Jan Granlie, SaltPeber: “Saxophonist Jan Harbeck must be one of the best within  his style in the world today”. Danish newspaper ‘Politiken’ furthermore described  Jan Harbeck Quartet’s show at Copenhagen Jazz Festival, in a review by music  editor Thomas Michelsen: “Harbeck demonstrated, that nobody can put their soul  into a jazz ballad like he can”, and previously in the same newspaper, he also  wrote: “the tenor saxophone is the essential sound of jazz. The soul of the genre.  Once upon a time we had Ben Webster in Copenhagen to put the soul to life again.  Today we have Jan Harbeck.”

Carsten Skov(vibraphone/keys) is a danish composer, producer and vibraphone  player. He studied at the Rhythmic Conservatory in Copenhagen. In Denmark he has worked with the Australian clarinet  player Chris Tanner and apart from that with Sys Bjerre, Maria Montell, Frederik  Nordsø, Fridolin Nordsø, Per Vers, Al Agami, Jacob Bellens, Christoffer, Folkeklubben, Thomas Buttenschøn, Hella Joof, MC Einar, DR's  pigekor, Barbara Moleko, Jørgen Klubien, Back to Back, Hush, Teitur, Call me Kat,  Jacob Dinesen, Thomas Hass, Burnt Friedman, Uwe Scmidt, Frank Leppard and  many many more……

The Danish singer and composer will be singing songs from her latest album  CONTEXT.

She interprets well known jazz standards as well as new versions of pop hits such as Robyn’s “Dancing on my own” and Radiohead’s “No surprises” in toned-down,  jazzy, smokey versions. Sanne is in very good company with Carsten Skov on  vibraphone and keys and Jan Harbeck on saxophone. This concert is varied,  creative and invites the audience into an intense and emotional experience.

DANISH

Sanne Graulund: Sanger, pianist og komponist. Uddannet på Det Rytmiske  Konservatorium i København.

Sanne har udgivet “Context”, “Totalt total”, “Midt i det hele”, “Better get some  dreams” and og med jazz trioen SHE trio har hun udgivet”Tiny Spirits” and “As  simple as that”.

CONTEXT indeholder fortolkninger af så forskellige sange som Robyns ’Dancing  On My Own’, Radioheads ’No Surprises’ og den forholdsvis ukendte Bowie-komposition ’5:15 The Angels Have Gone’ fra 2002.

Jan Harbeck modtog Ben Webster-prisen i 2018.

I 2014 udgav Jan Harbeck Quartet albummet ‘Variations in Blue’ med Walter Smith  III.
