SHARÓN CLARK (b. 1961), sultry chanteuse world-renowned for her vibrato and incomparable tonality, has been acclaimed by every major newspaper including the Washington Post, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal. Few singers are compared to the great ones but Ms. Clark embodies the blessed ones who had the voices heard once in a lifetime. Hearing her live makes the listener feel the bliss of perfection. Her recent performances includes sold out shows at Dizzy’s Club – Jazz at Lincoln, Birdland, a standing ovation at a sold out concert at the Kennedy Center, closing the DC Jazz Festival plus an outdoor festival in Taiwan in front of 50,000 people.
MATTIAS NILSSON (b. 1980), has with more than a thousand concerts in 32 countries around the world established himself as one of Sweden’s most personal pianists with his very own voice. Nilsson incorporates the Nordic Vemod, with influences from classical, folk and jazz music. Through his improvisations and a very warm and personal approach, this becomes a unique expression and a musical landscape with completely new shades of color. It´s not for no reason they call him the Swede with the warm Scandinavian touch.
JACOB DINESEN. If Danish jazz has one genuine playboy, it must be Jakob Dinesen – with a thick line under play. He and his sax and his good looks have romped around most of the world: Europe, Africa, Cuba, Thailand, USA, Japan and Australia. He has received just about every award a Danish musician can get – Grammys and soloist awards. When he saunters on stage, there are always a few moments of total concentration; then a crisp, searching sound emerges from the bell of his sax before starting up. Perhaps jumping straight into an improvisation, perhaps a loyal interpretation of whatever tune is on the agenda.
Behind him lies music played with Paul Motian, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ben Street, Eddie Gomez, Steve Swallow, Tony Allen, Etienne Mbappe, Ignacio Berroa, Nasheet Waits – just to drop a few names. This has led to several albums in his own name, including EVERYTHING WILL BE ALL RIGHT with Kurt Rosenwinkel, LADY WITH A SECRET with Gomez, ONE KISS TOO MANY with Ben Street, Jakob Bro and Nasheet Waits, AROUND and DINO with Motian, and ENAMORADO EN COPENHAGUE with a large handful of the best Cuban musicians. He has also appeared on countless albums as featured guest or sideman
