De Nøgne Øjne is a danish neo-psychedelic pop rock group, whose music is rooted in the 1960s, drawing elements from such genres as Beat music, surf, folk rock, motown and sunshine pop. This retro-oriented approach is placed in a contemporary danish context, giving the group it’s unique sound. DNØ was founded by Nick Willum Thøgersen and Christopher Hansen, after their band De Elskværdige broke up. Mie Rask joined the group shortly after, and together the trio they managed to record two EP’s with the help of several friends. The groups second EP “Hvis du var i tvivl” was recored on reel-to-reel tape in a single day, and it was at this point, that the band really managed to define its sound by blending energetic and vibrant rhythms, with memorable melodies, and soft sunshines harmonies. Anders Pilgaard Grishauge who played keys on the recording joined the group after the session, and brought along Lars Münster and Niels Kappel, completing the band.
