Drop Inn har i år tildelt temaer til dagene der repræsenterer det bedste i Jazz.
En overflødighedshornsektion der hylder og fremhæver instrumenter, undergenrer og tidens trends i Jazz-Danmark.
Den første søndag i vores festival program er under temaet: Ung Dansk Jazz.

Nikolaj Hess og de unge supertalenter Jayla Chee, Karl Seyer-Hansen Ronja Andersson i spændende kvartet møde.

NH vandt som helt ungt talent i starten af sit virke både Berlingske Guld Medalje for rytmisk musik og blev udtaget som best young European jazzpianist i RAI konkurrencen i Rom.
Her præsenterer Hess Nikolaj Hess Young Gen Special med tre unge supertalenter, Juilliard graduate bassisten Jayla Chee, som allerede er særdeles aktiv og eftertragtet på NYC jazz scenen, trommeslageren Karl Seyer-Hansen, som har fået et sjældent scholarship til den prestigefylde Juilliard School of Music i New York, og rising star Ronja Rose Andersson som udover at vinde ungjazz allerede høster stor anerkendelse som en af den nye generations vigtige og spændende stemmer på vokal og saxofon.

Nikolaj Hess er kendt for sit golden touch og lyriske, åbne og internationalt orienterede tonesprog, hvor jazz, improvisation, nordisk klang og filmiske stemninger smelter sammen. I denne særlige udgave af Nikolaj Hess Young Gen Special skaber han, Jayla Chee, Karl Seyer-Hansen og Ronja Andersson et kreativt rum, hvor de fire musikeres energi og perspektiver er en integreret del af udtrykket.

Jazzen har en smuk lang tværgenerationel tradition, og NH Young Gen Special ser frem til at dykke ned i det tidsophævende musikalske univers sammen med lytterne.

Musikken bliver en blanding af nye og gamle klassikere og originale kompositioner, fremadkiggende og med stor kærlighed til en dyb musikalsk tradition

Med improvisation, nærvær og intens musikalsk kommunikation skaber de tre kunstnere en koncert, hvor erfaring, åbenhed og nye perspektiver fra alle tre musikere smelter sammen i et poetisk og levende udtryk.

Nikolaj Hess joins forces with the young exceptional talents Jayla Chee, Karl Seyer-Hansen and Ronja Andersson in an exciting quartet encounter.

As a very young talent at the beginning of his career, Nikolaj Hess won both the Berlingske Gold Medal for rhythmic music and was selected as Best Young European Jazz Pianist at the RAI competition in Rome. Here he presents Nikolaj Hess Young Gen Special with three outstanding young talents: Juilliard graduate bassist Jayla Chee, already highly active and in demand on the New York City jazz scene; drummer Karl Seyer-Hansen, who has received a rare scholarship to the prestigious Juilliard School of Music in New York; and rising star Ronja Rose Andersson, who, in addition to winning Ung Jazz, is already gaining significant recognition as one of the new generation’s important and exciting voices on vocals and saxophone.

Nikolaj Hess is known for his golden touch and his lyrical, open, internationally oriented musical language, where jazz, improvisation, Nordic soundscapes and cinematic moods merge. In this special edition of Nikolaj Hess Young Gen Special, he, Jayla Chee, Karl Seyer-Hansen and Ronja Andersson create a creative space in which the energy and perspectives of all four musicians become an integral part of the expression.

Jazz has a beautiful and long cross-generational tradition, and NH Young Gen Special looks forward to diving into this timeless musical universe together with the listeners.

The music will be a mixture of new and old classics alongside original compositions — forward-looking, yet with deep love for a rich musical tradition.

Through improvisation, presence and intense musical communication, the four artists create a concert in which experience, openness and new perspectives from all four musicians merge into a poetic and vibrant expression.
