Den anden fredag i vores festival program er under temaet: Stairway to heaven – Guitars in Jazz.
Jacob Christoffersen – piano, keys
Aske Jacoby – guitar, vocal
Thomas Fonnesbæk – bas
Morten Lund – Trommer
This year, Drop Inn has assigned themes to the days that represent the best in Jazz.
A super selection that celebrates and highlights instruments, sub-genres and current trends in Jazz-Denmark.
The second Friday in our festival program is under the theme: Stairway to heaven – Guitars in Jazz.
A meeting between four adult virtuosos in their own right, all four musically broad-based, all four with a strong and personal voice. Expect a deep musical conversation, where improvisation, juicy groove, flying solos and open soundscapes weave in and out between each other, like a painting by Míro or Jorn.
The repertoire finds this ensemble among Aske Jacoby’s songs, Danish songs, jazz standards and rock classics, but all the time with the energy and power of the moment as a driving force. One moment you nod in recognition of the music, the next moment you feel like being sent out into an unknown universe.
The orchestra was originally founded on the initiative of drummer Morten Lund, but already during the first concert the musicians knew that this constellation could bring them to new depths of communication and interaction. Even though it is long between their meetings, there is always great joy and anticipation for the music, the known, the unknown and the new insights.
