ABOUT ATAJO
Atajo is more than just a band—it is a musical project that fuses Andean and Latin American roots with genres such as reggae, cumbia, rock, and blues, all enriched by Scandinavian influences. Founded in 1996 in La Paz, Bolivia, the band has long served as a voice for the unheard. Since arriving in Sweden in 2019, founder Panchi Maldonado has built cultural bridges that shape a unique sound defined by identity, love, and resistance.
The band continues to evolve while remaining true to its core. In 2025, they are presenting new songs—such as “La Viajera” and “Calma para mi Alma,” which are already available on all digital platforms—alongside their most beloved classics. Atajo’s music goes beyond mere entertainment; it evokes emotion, reflection, and a sense of community.
