I juni går kvartetten i studiet for at indspille HP’s tredje soloalbum\, og denne aften får publikum et sjældent kig ind bag kulisserne: råt\, levende og i konstant bevægelse. \nMusikken bygger videre på fundamentet fra de to forrige plader – men melodierne er trukket længere frem\, og harmonierne har fået et klart jazzet skær. Groovet er dog stadig det samme: levende\, legende og dybt forankret i soulen. \n  \nBandet: \nNiels HP – vokal & congas \nSanger og sangskriver med to anmelderroste solo albums bag sig (Promises of Rain og Bumpy Road) – og et tredje på vej med tekster om det vi står ved\, det vi går imod – og det vi tager på os. Elsket for sit dybe groove\, sin helt egen lyd og sin evne til at spille på musikkens præmisser. \n  \nFunky Soul and Jazzy Harmonies on the Way to a New Album \n  \nNiels HP hits Drop Inn in the heart of the Copenhagen Jazz Festival\, bringing with him a \ncollection of fresh new songs and a band ready to raise the roof. In June\, the quartet will enter the studio to record HP’s third solo album\, and this evening offers a rare glimpse behind the scenes: raw\, lively\, and always evolving. \nThe music builds upon the foundation laid by his previous albums\, but the melodies are more prominent\, and the harmonies take on a distinct jazz flavor. DESCRIPTION:Jazz Five er et af danmarks bedste live bands indenfor blues\, soul og jazz. De leverer altid koncerter med overskud\, spilleglæde og kærlighed til musikkens rødder. På trods af bandets navn\, spiller Jazz Fives hovedsagelig old school R’n’B\, blues og funk bl.a. med inspiration fra 60’ernes New Orleans. \nBandet tager kendte og ukendte numre fra bl.a. Dr. John\, James Booker og Fats Domino under kærlig behandling\, og krydrer med egne numre inspireret af forbillederne. \nJazz Five blev grundlagt i 1996 og har siden spillet flere tusind koncert i Danmark og rundt omkring i verden.
