DESCRIPTION:James Walker & Daisy Chute \nBilletter/Tickets: 80\,- (Link and doorsale – NB limited seats) \nOver the past decade\, James Walker has spent no more than three months in any one place. \nAfter a turbulent adolescence fraught with difficulties\, two open-heart surgeries\, drug dependence\, parental instability\, and unhealthy personal relationships\, it’s no wonder James feels the need to run toward – or away from – something greater than him. \nThis chosen statelessness and self-reliance has allowed James to introspect extensively and craft a defined and distinctive narrative voice. Urgent themes of identity and longing shroud his work; nostalgia for an un-had normality\, yearning for lost love\, and a heady sense of self-realization are explored in his poetic and intelligent lyrics. \nInitially\, James regarded himself as a fiercely independent artist\, writing his material in isolation\, self-producing\, booking concerts\, managing\, and promoting his music. However in recent years\, he has found friendship and created music with artists such as Nathan Nicholson\, Pollyanna\, Richard Walters\, Judy Blank\, Cooza\, Youri Lentjes\, Suzooki Swift\, Daisy Chute\, and partnered with esteemed label Snafu Records (catalogue of twenty Grammy nominations\, artists including Rani\, Kevin Garrett\, Sam Macpherson). \nHis most recent release\, a collaborative EP with Rain Adair (singer of MMX\, tour history with The 1975 and Pretty Reckless) and Isaac Wriston (bass player for H.E.R\, Jasmine Sullivan) under the moniker Settling\, is a confessional and emotive exploration of childhood trauma\, addiction\, loss and eventual recovery. It draws on sonic cues from artists such as Pinegrove\, and Bon Iver\, and was funded by Arts Council England. \nTo date James has performed at over 1\,250 concerts worldwide\, gathered over 35 million streams across all DSPs\, and been BBC Introducing’s “Artist Of The Week”. He will be touring extensively in 2024\, and releasing a body of work including co-writes with Adam Lee (Emeli Sandé\, Lizzy Mcalpine). \nDaisy Chute Bio \nScottish/American singer-songwriter Daisy Chute has found a loyal following through her award-winning songwriting and jaw-dropping vocals. 2024 brought with it a Grammy award for her involvement in The Birdsong Project alongside Robert Thomas and a host of established artists on the scene. Daisy also received FATEA’s EP of the year award (2022) for ‘Songs of Solace’\, and followed up with her latest EP ‘Maiden\, Mother\, Crone’ launched in April 2023. Regularly selling out shows across the UK\, Europe and US\, Daisy can be spotted with a guitar or banjo at top arts venues such as Kings Place London\, Pound Arts Corsham\, Cambridge Junction and festivals including Black Deer\, Bristol Folk\, Cambridge Folk\, Beardy Folk\, Wickham (mainstage) and Glastonbury. 2024 is no exception with tours across the U.K. and Europe co-headlining with artists James Walker\, Lady Nade\, Hollie Rogers and more. \nPossessed with a “gorgeous voice” (Guy Garvey\, Elbow) and recognised as a ‘committed\, professional and creative songwriter’ (Sir Ray Davies\, The Kinks)\, Daisy and her original music features regularly on BBC Radio including London\, Scotland\, Ulster\, Surrey and Sussex (inc. Record of the Week)\, and television including BBC 1/2/3\, ITV\, C4 and Sky. Her music is also playlisted across thousands of Tesco and Caffe Nero stores around the world. \nWith an abundance of recording credits\, you may have heard Daisy’s vocals before without even realising. Credits range from TV favourites like ITV’s ‘Endeavour’ and David Attenborough documentaries to film soundtracks like ‘Yesterday’ and ‘Shaun the Sheep’ movies. For fans of games you may have heard her sing in Simlish or play banjo for EA Games’ The Sims 4 or heard her backing vocals for iconic band albums such as Radiohead ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’ and Justice’s Grammy-winning ‘Woman Worldwide’. \nAs a teenager\, Daisy was a founding member and featured vocalist in the chart-topping Classical Brit nominated band All Angels. Often performing with orchestra\, the vocal quartet regularly played venues such as the Royal Albert Hall\, O2 Arena and even Wembley Stadium for the Champions League finals. After one performance at the Classical Brit Awards at the RAH\, Sir Paul McCartney even gave Daisy a thumbs up for her ‘low notes’! Despite releasing multiple albums as a vocalist\, Daisy has yet to release a full length album of original music – this hotly anticipated debut ‘Throne’ is due out in 2024. \nWhen she’s not touring or in the studio\, Daisy loves songwriting and collaboration and is a regular on Chris Difford’s retreats where she gets to rub shoulders and collaborate with musical legends like Beth Nielsen Chapman\, Judie Tzuke\, Donna Taggart and Jamie Lawson.
